Everything from Azerbaijan is a Deception: Ohanyan
The authorities of Armenia want to pursue peace, realizing that Azerbaijan only seeks to extort, and does not aspire to real peace. This was stated by Seyran Ohanyan, a member of the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction, during a conversation with journalists.
'It is true that we must pursue peace, we also strive for peace, especially as a military person, I can say, who wants peace more than the structure that could be the first to suffer in a wartime situation? Everything from Azerbaijan is a deception because they have included points in the peace treaty that demonstrate that there are continuous pressures on Armenia, presenting new demands. Moreover, when these are accompanied by gunfire at the border, it shows that the peace they talk about is not real,' he said.
The legislator also added that Azerbaijan is trying to delay the signing of the peace treaty because it has its own objectives. 'Azerbaijan's delay in the peace treaty stems from their desire to create international legal grounds for future benefits from geopolitical developments and the relations between power centers. Knowing the Azerbaijani authorities well, I can say that the peace Azerbaijan aspires to is not real,' the MP emphasized.
