It’s Premature to Discuss Lifting Sanctions Against Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron deems it premature to discuss the lifting of sanctions against Russia. He made this statement following a meeting of participants in the 'Alliance of Supporters of Ukraine'.

"The time to lift the sanctions has not come yet," stated Macron, emphasizing that other participants at the meeting in Paris agreed with this position.

According to European media, similar views were echoed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Scholz remarked that lifting sanctions before the restoration of peace is pointless. Starmer even mentioned that the meeting discussed not the easing of sanctions but rather the possibility of strengthening them.
