Teacher Arrested for Sexual Offenses Against Students

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has announced that during the criminal proceedings related to serious crimes against persons, evidence was obtained indicating that a teacher from one of Yerevan’s schools had repeatedly committed sexual offenses against two students from the same school.

According to the report, public criminal proceedings have been initiated against A.T. under Article 198, Part 3, Points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code (sexual violence) (4 instances) and Article 198, Part 3, Point 1 (sexual violence) (3 instances).

Pre-trial detention has been applied as a preventive measure against the suspect. The criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request for confirmation and for the court's review.
