Ukraine to Hold Presidential Elections: Witkoff
The Ukrainian authorities have agreed to hold presidential elections. This was announced by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
“Yes, they will take place. They (Ukrainian authorities) have already agreed. The elections will be held in Ukraine,” he stated.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that due to the absence of presidential elections in Ukraine according to law, Volodymyr Zelensky is not the president of the country, as stipulated in the country's Constitution. For this reason, Russian authorities have indicated that signing a peace agreement with Ukraine at this stage would be illegal.
