New Army Transformation System Announced in Armenian Armed Forces by Suren Papikyan

The Armenian Armed Forces have released a new system for the transformation of the army, along with an operational plan. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security.

“Contracts for the supply of weapons and military equipment have been signed with a number of resident and non-resident companies for the purposes of modernizing weapons and military equipment, as well as acquiring new models. Engineering construction works have also continued. Efforts have been made towards the construction and renovation of permanent troop deployment sites,” the minister stated.

Recently, Azerbaijani media have circulated reports claiming that the Armenian side has violated the ceasefire regime along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Armenian Ministry of Defense has denied these reports for days, asserting that Azerbaijan is spreading misinformation.
