What is Armenia's Relationship with Iran and the USA

For Armenia, Iran's consistent support regarding the country's territorial integrity and the inviolability of its borders is very important. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, at the diplomatic institute in Rio Branco, Brazil. Addressing Armenia's broader regional relationships, the Foreign Minister highlighted Yerevan's deep and continuously developing partnership with Georgia and Iran.

“In 2024, we officially elevated our partnership with Georgia to a strategic level, reflecting the strong nature of our ties that had already been established. Our cooperation with Iran continues to develop dynamically. Key infrastructure projects underscore our steadfast commitment to improving regional connectivity. Iran's consistent support for Armenia's territorial integrity and the inviolability of its borders is very important for us,” the Minister noted.

Ararat Mirzoyan also spoke about relations with the USA and noted that Armenia is actively strengthening its strategic relations with the United States. “Two months ago, we signed the Comprehensive Charter on Strategic Partnership with the United States, which has historical significance for our cooperation. This document enshrines a new deepened level of our relations. They continue to develop under the new administration of the USA, which is evidenced by the ongoing and constructive engagement of high-ranking officials,” said Mirzoyan.
