Former NATO Secretary General Talks About Armenian Prisoners
Armenian prisoners should be returned immediately. This statement was made by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the founder and president of the "Rasmussen Global" political consulting firm and former NATO Secretary General, during a meeting with journalists in Ijevan.
He explained that signing a peace agreement would mean that all issues raised during negotiations have been resolved. Rasmussen expressed regret over Azerbaijan's attack on Artsakh. He noted, "However, my focus is on the fact that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on the text of the peace agreement. And this should be used as a platform to move forward."
Regarding the peace agreement, he said, "There is a high probability that Azerbaijan will try to delay the signing of the peace agreement." According to him, this is evidenced by Baku's raising of an issue that was not discussed during the negotiations. He clarified that this concerns the demand to change Armenia's constitution.
"It is a very complicated process. Even if there is a strong desire to take such a step, it will take a lot of time to implement it," said Rasmussen.
