How Many Have Submitted Declarations and What Happens If They Don't: Tax Committee
There is a positive trend in the submission of declarations by citizens. This was stated by the Head of the Tax Committee, Eduard Hakobjan, during a conversation with journalists.
In response to the question of what the Tax Committee will do if about 750,000 registered employees do not submit declarations, Hakobjan said, “You are asking the question from a negative perspective, but the current dynamics suggest otherwise. We will do what we did last year.”
According to Hakobjan, people are indeed submitting their declarations; as of now, approximately 12,000 citizens have already submitted theirs. Regarding state employees, he commented, “It doesn't matter why we should exclude them. We are talking about 750,000, and as of now, 12,000 have submitted theirs, and there are also many people who have received credits.”
In case, for example, 600,000 do not submit their declarations, the head of the Tax Committee noted that currently, there is only the penalty mechanism in effect. “At this moment, there is no other mechanism. The penalties are increased and doubled,” Hakobjan added.
