Four Bookmakers Fined by the Competition Protection Council
The Competition Protection Council has announced that four bookmakers have been fined a total of approximately 1 billion AMD for sending advertising messages to citizens.
Fines have been imposed on four companies amounting to 363,396,000 AMD, 298,770,000 AMD, 20,237,000 AMD, and 301,473,000 AMD for unfair competition, which includes misleading the public.
The investigations revealed that the marketing messages sent to citizens were of an advertising nature, and they were dispatched without citizens explicitly expressing their consent, nor were there any time limitations on such consent. Additionally, the messages lacked necessary age restrictions and warnings regarding potential losses.
