Decision to Resume War Means Death Sentence for Israeli Hostages, Says Hamas

The decision by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reignite hostilities in the Gaza Strip signifies a death sentence for Israeli hostages. This was stated on Tuesday, March 18, by a member of the Palestinian Hamas movement's political bureau, Izzat al-Rishq.

“Netanyahu's decision to return to war is a decision to sacrifice Israeli captives and condemn them to death,” Al Jazeera quoted his words from the AI Mayadeen television channel.

On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian Hamas radical movement in Gaza. The Israeli Air Force has reportedly struck three houses in Deir al-Balah, as well as buildings in Khan Yunis and Rafah, according to Reuters.

Later, journalist Ravid reported that Israel had previously warned the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump about the resumption of strikes on Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, the attacks have resulted in the deaths of 199 people.
