US Plans to Transfer Military Equipment from Germany to Armenia
The United States intends to transfer hundreds of units of equipment and vehicles from its bases in Germany to Armenia's firing ranges. This was reported by the Russian state media outlet Russia Today.
According to documents reviewed by RT, the transfer is planned to be carried out through Georgian territory. Data from the U.S. government's procurement portal indicates that the U.S. Army's Materiel Command plans to transfer equipment from the German military base in Dülmen to Armenia's Vardenis military base. The transfer is scheduled for July 16 and is expected to last until August 7. The return to Germany, as stipulated in the transport services contract, is set for the period from August 21 to September 20, 2025.
The contract also includes the transport of equipment from Armenia's Armavir training ground to the port of Poti in Georgia. A total of 151 units of equipment are expected to be transferred, including vehicles, generators, and specialized containers. Additionally, eight ambulances will be transported to Armenia as part of the contract.
However, the publication indicates that there is a condition in the competition stating that the equipment cannot be transported through the territories of Russia, Turkey, or Azerbaijan due to "difficulties with diplomatic permissions." Dülmen, from where the equipment is to be transferred, is home to units of the U.S. 405th Army Field Support Brigade. This brigade is the main logistical operator for U.S. troops in European and African theaters, supporting the network of arsenals and supply bases in Germany, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and elsewhere.
