U.S. Department of Defense Responds to Reports of Possible Military Equipment Transfer to Armenia
The U.S. Department of Defense has refrained from commenting on the reports regarding the possible transfer of military equipment to Armenia, as published by the Russian news agency RT.
In response to a query from Armenpress, officials from the U.S. Department of Defense stated, “The U.S. values its relationship with Armenia highly. The Department of Defense does not comment on movements of military equipment due to operational security considerations.”
As of now, the Armenian Ministry of Defense has not issued an official response.
Earlier, the Russian RT news agency reported that the logistics command of the U.S. Army plans to transfer military equipment and various supplies from the German base in Dülmen to Armenia's “Zar” training ground for potential joint Armenian-American exercises. According to the published information, the transfer of equipment is scheduled to take place from July 16 to August 7, with a return to Germany planned between August 21 and September 20.
The reports also indicate that the equipment will be transported to Armenia via Georgian territory, as the transportation route cannot pass through Russia, Turkey, or Azerbaijan due to complications with diplomatic permissions.
