Criminal Proceedings Initiated Against Turkish Citizen in Yerevan Hotel Incident
A criminal case has been initiated concerning an incident involving a 41-year-old Turkish citizen, Ali Aslan, who was staying at the "London" hotel located at Tumanyan 21/2 in Yerevan. Under the influence of alcoholic beverages, Aslan exhibited disrespectful behavior and made offensive remarks.
According to Kim Avdalyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, the case was initiated under the first part of Article 297 of the Criminal Code, which defines hooliganism as a gross disrespect for society or a blatant disregard for legal or moral norms. This behavior can manifest through degradation of individuals or disruption of public peace with insults or obscene expressions, as well as by obstructing the normal activities of organizations.
Aslan holds dual citizenship. Notably, earlier reports indicated that an extraordinary incident took place in Yerevan on March 11. As per Shamshyan.com, at around 12:05 PM, operational information was received at the Central Division of the Community Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, indicating that Ali Aslan was behaving disrespectfully towards guests and staff at the "London" hotel while under the influence of alcohol.
