2,093 Incidents Recorded in the RA Armed Forces in 2024: Prosecutor's Office

In 2024, a total of 2,093 incidents were recorded in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia (RA), compared to 2,358 incidents in 2023. Of these incidents, 762 were classified as accidents (803 in 2023), while 1,331 were incidents of alleged crimes (1,555 in 2023), including 715 military-related (847 in 2023), and 616 related to other crimes (708 in 2023). There were 178 serious crimes (242 in 2023) and 39 particularly serious crimes (78 in 2023).

This information was provided by the RA Prosecutor's Office. In 2024, a total of 40 servicemen lost their lives, of which 27 deaths were due to service-related circumstances. Among these, 4 were members of the RA Volunteer Corps killed by the enemy, 5 were homicides (including 1 member of the Volunteer Corps and 1 participant in a training session due to a fire), and 7 were suicides or resulted in a push to suicide. There were also 4 traffic accidents, a violation of combat vehicle operation rules, 2 cases of aircraft accidents, 3 deaths from illness (including 1 from the Volunteer Corps), and 1 accident.

In addition, 13 servicemen died in non-service-related circumstances: 3 from illness, 7 from traffic accidents, 1 suicide, and 2 accidents.
