Ukrainian Armed Forces Were Not Expecting This: Gerasimov

The operation to transfer Russian military personnel via a gas pipeline to Suja was unexpected for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was stated by Valery Gerasimov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, during a visit to the command post of the Kursk group, reported Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Gerasimov, the actions of the Russian side were unforeseen for the adversary and contributed to the collapse of their defenses, facilitating the development of offensive operations by the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. He also added that the Russian army had abandoned certain directions, leaving the Kursk border area and entering the Sumy region.
