We Cannot Promise NATO Membership to Ukraine: Marine Le Pen

France cannot assist Ukraine in joining NATO. Additionally, Ukraine's accession to the European Union also contradicts our interests. This was stated by MP Marine Le Pen in the French National Assembly.

“We need to support Ukraine, but this must be done based on reality. First and foremost, we need to consider our own national interests, not empty rhetoric. The reality is that we cannot promise Ukraine NATO membership. Ukraine's accession to the EU certainly contradicts our interests; it will be very costly for France,” the politician said.

She pointed out that after Ukraine joins the EU, French farmers will be deprived of a significant portion of European subsidies, which will be allocated to their Ukrainian counterparts, among many other circumstances that will create serious problems for France in the future.
