I Want to First Thank the Taxpaying Citizens, Says Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening ceremony of the newly constructed secondary school in Pkokh Verdu. The Prime Minister toured the school, familiarizing himself with the work accomplished and the conditions created. The total cost of the project amounted to 1.929 billion drams, implemented with co-financing from the Government under the Asian Development Bank's seismic safety improvement program. As a result of the work carried out, the residents of Pkokh Verdu now have a new school with a designed capacity for 432 students.

Pashinyan congratulated those present on the completion of the magnificent building and noted, “I want to first thank all the working, productive citizens of the Republic of Armenia who pay their legally prescribed taxes. Because of taxpayers, first and foremost, and their funding, this school has been built, as have the roads, kindergartens, and many public structures.”

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to all the authorities and construction companies involved at various stages of the school’s construction, emphasizing that the quality of the construction works is evident. According to Pashinyan, the attitude towards the school begins with the building itself. “It is very important for us that the school be the most visible, the most important building, because here, indeed, we learn a lot. This is an educational process for the Government, for teachers, for students, for the community, and for all of us,” he stated, adding that the school also teaches coexistence, harmony with the environment, and so on.

The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the “300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens” program continues successfully, within the framework of which the secondary school in Pkokh Verdu was built. Nikol Pashinyan stressed, “I hope that this building, which we are handing over to you today, will be brought to life by you, because a building is just a building, but a school will live through you, a school will thrive according to how you nurture it. And I am confident that in Pkokh Verdu, the school will live, develop, and from it, the life of Pkokh Verdu and the Republic of Armenia will be more visible, and oriented towards a brighter future.”
