Russia Seeks to Disrupt Ukraine's Relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia, Claims Ukrainian Ministry of Defense
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has reported that Russia seeks to disrupt Ukraine's relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The intelligence agency states that in Armenian information space, particularly on Telegram channels, false publications are spreading, accusing Ukraine's intelligence service of attempting to facilitate armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“Those spreading disinformation are claiming that a new war between Azerbaijan and Armenia would supposedly compel Russia to open a 'second front,' thereby dispersing its forces, which would benefit Ukraine. The basis for this disinformation campaign has been a fake report from Ukrainian intelligence that contained gross inaccuracies and does not align with the official documents of Ukraine's project papers. The implementation of this information operation aims to discredit Ukraine and worsen Ukrainian-Armenian and Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations, which is primarily beneficial to Russia,” the statement from the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reads.
