Peskov Responds to Trump's Statement
The status of regions incorporated into Russia (self-proclaimed DPR, LPR, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions) is not up for discussion; they are an inseparable part of the country. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
"The territories that have become subjects of the Russian Federation, as enshrined in our country's Constitution, are an indivisible part of Russia," Peskov told reporters.
Peskov responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks that the U.S. would seek to secure the return of territories lost by Ukraine as part of a potential peace agreement with Russia, despite the fact that he considers it unlikely that Ukraine will return to its 2014 borders.
