The Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan presented a draft law to the government aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency sector. Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that this is the first attempt to regulate the cryptocurrency field.

“We have not had such regulation before. This regulation will not be perfect. We have refrained from pursuing this regulation for so many years, thinking that it will not be perfect and trying a little bit more to make it perfect. It has not become perfect and will not become perfect, but we need to proceed with the path of regulating the sector. We must be clear that the issue here is as follows: the state management system must gradually gain knowledge about cryptocurrency because, at least in terms of structured cryptocurrencies, it lacks knowledge since we do not engage with this topic, but rather encounter it accidentally, in different situations,” he added.
