They Do Not Want to Be the Area Where External Players' Issues Are Resolved: Lavrov

The leadership of Syria is interested in stabilizing the situation in the country without geopolitical interference. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"We know that the Syrian leadership, and this has been confirmed to us by our interlocutors from Qatar, is interested in ensuring that support for reforms and the processes of resolving the situation within the country is balanced and equitable so that no one attempts to subordinate these processes to their geopolitical objectives," Lavrov said.

The minister emphasized that Syria no longer wishes to be the area where geopolitical issues of external players are resolved.
