Yegoyan on the Start of Visa Liberalization Talks with the EU
Last year we achieved very important milestones. I would like to highlight, first and foremost, the launch of the dialogue on visa liberalization between Armenia and the European Union. This was announced today, February 25, during the opening of the 4th meeting of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Partnership Committee in Yerevan by Arman Yegoyan, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee.
“This was a decision we had long awaited and worked tirelessly for many years, not just with the institutions of the European Union but also separately with the member states of the European Union. This decision did not come easy, especially given the current discussions on migration and its associated risks within the EU. I want to express my gratitude to all 27 member states without exception for making this dialogue possible. Following this, our steps will be taken, primarily on a more technical level. The political will is there, and I am confident that within a few years, visa liberalization will become a reality. At least the Republic of Armenia will do everything possible to achieve this,” Yegoyan stated.
