Which European Countries Are Unwilling to Support Kyiv: Politico

Some diplomats assert that there is a lack of unity within the EU regarding support for Kyiv, as they are unable to make a clear decision about providing military assistance. This is reported by Politico.

The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, has put forward an initiative to support Kyiv, emphasizing the necessity of making a definitive decision on this matter. She stated, “It is essential to provide military assistance, including weapons, ammunition, air defense systems, and importantly, to adopt a clear decision regarding the expansion of the program for training Ukrainian soldiers in Europe.”

Italy, Portugal, and Spain have opposed the proposed financing scheme, preferring to avoid short-term expenses associated with the national budget. France and Germany, on the other hand, are asking for additional time to discuss the initiative.
