Unfortunately, International Humanitarian Law Failed in Artsakh: Alen Simonyan
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the members of the European Parliament who, over the years, have followed the developments in the region, the challenges facing Armenia, have listened to our alarms, and have condemned in the reports and speeches adopted by the European Parliament the devastating war unleashed by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, the forced displacement of over 100,000 Armenians, the occupation of Armenia's sovereign territory, the gross violations of human rights, the fact of prisoners held in Azerbaijan, and the vandalism against Armenian cultural and religious heritage.
This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan at the 4th meeting of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Partnership Committee ongoing in Yerevan.
“Unfortunately, all these responses were insufficient, and international humanitarian law failed in Nagorno-Karabakh,” he noted.
