Peskov on Possible Negotiations with the EU
Moscow does not yet see any prerequisites for the resumption of dialogue with European countries. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, in an interview with "RIA Novosti."
"The European Union adopted a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation on February 24, which includes restrictions on several Russian banks, media outlets, and maritime vessels. Brussels' decision has been made against the backdrop of certain shifts in relations between Russia and the United States. During a meeting held in Riyadh on February 18, representatives of the two countries agreed to address, among other things, the regulation of embassy operations in Moscow and Washington," Peskov noted.
It is noteworthy that earlier the EU confirmed the 16th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. A total of 48 individuals and 35 legal entities have been added to the European Union's blacklist. The restrictions also apply to certain Russian media outlets.
