Rescue Service Reports on Road Conditions
The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the territory of Armenia.
According to the agency, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain weather station to Lake Kari and Amberd Fortress in the Aragatsotn region are closed. The roads from Fandan to Jraber and from Kaputan to Hatis-Zovashen are closed for all types of transportation.
All roads in the Lori region and the Vardenyats Pass (due to snow, fog, and blizzard) are closed for cargo vehicles and are difficult to navigate for other vehicles. The Tigranashen bends, the road from the Jermuk intersection leading to the Syunik region, and the road from the village of Syunik to Tatev are closed for cargo vehicles with trailers, while the Artashavan-Zilkhar road is closed for cargo vehicles.
The Spitak-Gyumri road is closed for cargo vehicles with trailers and is difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. The intercommunity roads in the regions of Amasia, Ashotsk, and Artik, as well as the Gyumri-Bavra road, the M-2 road to Jermuk city, and the M-3 road to the village of Shenkani, along with the section known as "Meghrusi Sar," are difficult to navigate for all types of transportation.
Snow is present in the regions of Syunik, Lori, Vayots Dzor, as well as in the cities of Gavar, Vardenis, and Dilijan. There is black ice in some areas of the Alagyaz region's roads, in the Dilijan and Tigranashen bends (due to fog), and on the Yerevan-Gyumri road between the villages of Hayrenik and Lanjik (due to fog).
There is a blizzard on the Yerevan-Sevan road at 25-40 km, as well as on the Lanjik-Mastara, Horom-Artik-Mets Mantash, Gyumri-Jajur, Charentsavan-Fandan, and Charentsavan-Arzakan roads. Fog is present in the Ashtarak region.
The agency has added that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles.
