The Armenian National Football Team Has a New Head Coach
The former head coach of Ajax and the Greece national team will lead the Armenian national team.
61-year-old Dutch coach John van 't Schip has been appointed to head the Armenian national football team. His assistant will be former Netherlands national player Aron Winter.
Armen Melikbekyan, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), introduced John van 't Schip to the members of the FFA Executive Committee today. The Executive Committee approved van 't Schip's candidacy for the position of head coach of the Armenian National Team.
The coach will begin his duties on March 1, 2025. The contract is set in a 1+1 format.
John van 't Schip was born on December 30, 1963.

As a player, he became the European champion with the Netherlands national team in 1988 and won the national championship with Ajax four times (1981-1982, 1982-1983, 1984-1985, 1989-1990), as well as the Dutch Cup three times (1982-1983, 1985-1986, 1986-1987). He was also a winner of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1986-1987) and the UEFA Cup (1991-1992).
