Armenian Athletes Earn Gold and Silver Medals at Balkan Championships

Armenia's representative runner Yervand Mkrtchyan has become the champion of the Balkan Indoor Athletics Championships. He won the 1500-meter race with a time of 3:49.82, outpacing competitors from Slovenia and Turkey, Anzej Blog and Ibrahim Erat.

Another Armenian athlete, Gor Hovakimyan, secured second place in the triple jump, achieving a mark of 16.10 meters.

The championship for Balkan countries commenced on February 15 in Belgrade, with Armenia represented by seven athletes: Yervand Mkrtchyan (running), Razmik Ghazaryan (triple jump), Gor Hovakimyan (long jump, triple jump), Samvel Gevorgyan (running), Milena Grigoryan (running), Yana Sargsyan (long jump, triple jump), and Isabella Arakelyan (long jump).
