Snow, Blocked Roads: The Situation in Armenia

The Rescue Service informs that there are blocked roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the «Amberd» high-altitude meteorological station to Lake Kary and Amberd Fortress in the Aragatsotn province are closed.

The Vardenyats pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers.

In the Syunik province, in the town of Dilijan, snow is currently falling in the area known as Saravan-«Zanger». There is fog in the area referred to as «Zanger». A blizzard is observed in the Gorayk-«Zanger» area.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trucks.
