Arrested Individuals in Metro are Foreign Nationals: Details
On February 1, at 21:32, the Police's operational management center received a report that masked individuals were spraying paint on train cars in the open area between the "Sasuntsi David" and "Republic Square" metro stations. Moments later, another alert was received that the same individuals were throwing stones at the train, preventing it from moving.
An operational group that responded to the scene determined that they had first activated the train's "emergency stop" lever. After the train's stop, several individuals climbed over the wall in the intermediate area between the stations and approached to vandalize the train cars transporting passengers with paint.
This information was reported by the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “The identities of the foreign nationals who committed the crime have been established. Policemen from the Community Police Department of the Metro, acting on the operational information, together with employees of the NSS and the Community Police Department of the Noyemberyan division, arrested five foreign nationals attempting to cross the Bagratashen border checkpoint on suspicion of hooliganism. The arrested individuals and the compiled documents have been submitted to the investigative department of the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts,” the statement reads.
