Europeans Want Sanctions, Americans Want Peace: Orban
The new U.S. administration and the EU leadership have different approaches to the Ukrainian conflict. This opinion was expressed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“Europeans say that sanctions should be maintained and even strengthened so that Ukrainians can win the war against Russia. However, the U.S. Secretary of State, in his interview, mentioned that it would be unfair to deceive everyone by insisting that Ukrainians can win this war. This showed that Americans do not want sanctions, but rather peace, while Europeans want sanctions, not peace,” said Orban.
The Prime Minister of Hungary noted that his country supports a negotiated resolution to the conflict and holds out hopes for U.S. President Donald Trump in this regard.
