Administrative Penalty Imposed on Davit Sargsyan: "Hayots Ashkhar"
According to the "Hayots Ashkhar" newspaper, an administrative penalty has been imposed on Davit Sargsyan, the mayor of Dilijan in the Tavush region, in the amount of 300,000 drams, which is three hundred times the established salary.
This comes after Lurer.com published an article titled "Corruption in Dilijan: The Mayor Sold Land to His Own Brother." According to the information discussed in the publication, Davit Sargsyan, on May 2, 2024, by decision number 538-A, presented a 1650 sq. meter plot of land belonging to the Dilijan community for auction on June 3, 2024, starting at a price of 11.5 million drams, which is below the market value.
The auction was won by Sargsyan's brother, Sasun Sargsyan, at the same starting price. The Anti-Corruption Committee reviewed the article and found that an administrative violation was present under the characteristics of an offense specified in the first part of Article 169.31. On November 18, 2024, the Committee decided to impose an administrative penalty on Davit Sargsyan amounting to 300,000 drams.
