It is Revealed Why Arman Sahakyan was Arrested

The former head of the State Property Management Department and former MP Arman Sahakyan has been arrested. This was reported to "Radar Armenia" by the Investigative Committee.

“Based on the evidence gathered as a result of extensive evidentiary and procedural actions carried out in the criminal proceedings of the Main Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, public criminal proceedings have been initiated against 13 individuals for abuse of power or official authority by officials, involving large-scale money laundering using those same authorities, and for assisting officials. Among those charged is Arman Sahakyan, who served as the head of the State Property Management Department under the RA Government from 2011 to 2018. These actions pertain to the illegal allocation of land plots under the pretext of re-evaluating the areas occupied by three educational institutions in Yerevan from 2012 to 2015, with the intent to conceal the criminal origin, rights, and ownership of the specified real estate by selling them through formal auctions to persons connected with them,” the Investigative Committee stated.

Arman Sahakyan and seven others have been arrested based on the investigator’s decision, and motions for their detention have been submitted to the court, resulting in various measures of restraint being applied to the defendants. Arman Sahakyan has been subjected to administrative supervision. The preliminary investigation into the criminal proceedings is ongoing at the Investigative Committee of the RA. A formal announcement will be made later,” the Investigative Committee reported.
