Peskov on Putin and Pashinyan's Phone Conversation
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, did not discuss Armenia's participation in the CSTO during their phone conversation. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. “No, this topic was not discussed during the last phone conversation between the president and the prime minister,” Peskov said.
Today, Armenia's external intelligence service reported that it is unlikely that the grounds for freezing Armenia's participation in the CSTO will be lifted this year. Commenting on the topic, Peskov noted that Armenia has not yet expressed the intention to leave the CSTO. “The CSTO is an independent and established organization that has proven its effectiveness and relevance. Work is ongoing based on that. So far, Armenia has not announced any intention to leave this organization,” Peskov added.
