Former Minister Vahe Kerobyan Appeals to ECHR Over Criminal Case
The former Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahe Kerobyan, has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the legality of his house arrest stemming from a criminal case against him. This information was confirmed by Kerobyan himself to Sputnik Armenia.
It is noteworthy that Vahe Kerobyan is implicated in a corruption case. On February 16, 2024, a measure of restraint was imposed on him in the form of house arrest for a duration of 2 months. On April 13, the house arrest was extended for an additional 2 months.
Initially, there were 8 defendants in the case, some of whom were employees of the Ministry of Economy, while others were from the private sector. The criminal case has been discontinued for 6 of the 8 defendants based on grounds of active repentance.
