Data from the Black Boxes of the Crashed Airplane Transferred to Russia and Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan has transferred the analyzed data from the black boxes of the Azerbaijani airline "AZAL" aircraft to Russia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and head of the investigation commission for the aviation accident, Kanat Bozumbaev.
"They were analyzed in Brazil, returned to Kazakhstan, and are currently with the investigative group operating under the Prosecutor General's Office. All experts are working on them. Now both the Azerbaijani and Russian sides have copies of the data from these boxes. We have nothing to hide," he said.
Bozumbaev noted that, in addition to experts from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization have also joined the investigation.
It has been reported that preliminary results of the investigation may be published next week.
The airplane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed on the morning of December 25, 2024, near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. According to the airline, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported that 29 people survived.
