New Charges Filed Against Seyran Ohanyan
Former Minister of Defense and leader of the "Armenia" faction, Seyran Ohanyan, has been charged with new allegations related to the March 1 case. In the Anti-Corruption Court, the prosecutor presented charges stating that Ohanyan, in 2008, while being the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, acted beyond his authority in collaboration with other individuals, which resulted in serious consequences due to negligence.
He was charged under Article 441 of the Criminal Code (abuse of power or exceeding authority by an official). The punishment for this offense is set at 4 to 8 years of imprisonment.
