The Right Term is 'Karabakh', We All Make Mistakes: Simonian

Edita

The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has addressed the trial of the former leadership of Artsakh. According to Simonian, they are monitoring the proceedings.

“We hope that after the trial, there will be an opportunity to discuss bringing these people back in some way and to release them,” said the Armenian Parliamentary Speaker.

He also noted that the correct term to use is 'Karabakh'. To the reminder that he once considered Aghdam to be his homeland, the Speaker responded, “We all make mistakes, do you have any more questions?”

Responding to a question about whether Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was wrong when he stated that 'Artsakh is Armenia, period', and that this mistake led to the loss of Artsakh and 5,000 casualties, he replied, “Who said there are 5,000 casualties, it is less than 4,000. And why, when you increase the number, do you not mention that thanks to Nikol Pashinyan, 25,000 people avoided encirclement, and 25,000 people returned to their families? If there are such people who like to inflate numbers, let them say 55,000 instead of 25,000.”
“Regarding mistakes, the Prime Minister has spoken about it, and in our way of thinking, in our reality, we all had different perceptions, including myself and him,” he added.
