The Road to Upper Lars Opened for Freight Vehicles

The road leading to the Upper Lars checkpoint has been opened for freight vehicles. This was announced to Auroranews by Vahan Hakobyan, the customs attaché of the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation.

“Traffic for articulated and semi-articulated vehicles has been restored in the specified section. The traffic in this section will be conducted only through snow tunnels. At this moment, the road is open for all types of vehicles,” said Hakobyan.

Earlier, we reported that due to snowfall in the Gudauri-Kobi section of the international Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway, the Khach mountain pass was closed to freight transport in both directions.
