Pashinyan on Domestic Violence
There are children who drop out of education for various reasons. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.
“We need to understand how child labor by families prevents children from receiving a proper education and their right to access education,” he said.
According to him, in a democratic society, the inviolability of personal and family life is fully respected, but on the other hand, when there are processes that objectively and subjectively go beyond the realm of the family, the state must have tools for intervention.
“This is an inseparable part of the agenda for state security and development,” he added.
According to Pashinyan, criminal inclinations are often formed in conditions of family and domestic violence, where violence becomes a culture.
“When violence is a culture at home, it spills out into the yard, from the yard to the neighborhood, from the neighborhood to the school, and from the school to society, and so on. Is violence our family tradition? If so, then we must uproot that tradition. Who said that it is a good thing?” the Prime Minister emphasized.
