Trump Orders Phone Call with Putin
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has instructed his aides to arrange a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin within a few days following his inauguration. This was reported by CNN, citing sources.
According to them, one of the objectives of the conversation will be to discuss the possibility of a personal meeting in the coming months, with the aim of trying to "put an end" to military operations in Ukraine.
As stated by one of the channel's interlocutors, Trump believes that "direct cooperation with Putin is exactly what is needed to find a solution" that will end the military conflict.
It should be noted that the newly elected president's national security advisor, Mike Waltz, spoke on January 12 about the preparatory work for the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, clarified that the work on organizing communications can only begin after Trump's inauguration, which is scheduled for today, January 20.
