Meeting on Border Demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan
On January 16, a meeting took place at the border of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan between the State Commission on Border Demarcation and Border Security of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The meeting was chaired by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties continued to exchange thoughts on the implementation of border demarcation work and agreed to commence comprehensive border demarcation efforts starting from the northern section, at the intersection point of the borders of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, and Georgia, and subsequently moving southward, from north to south, until reaching the border of the Republic of Armenia with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The parties also discussed drafts of relevant guidelines regarding the order of implementation for the demarcation works. Additionally, they agreed to coordinate the date and location of the next meeting in a working manner.
