Police Reform Coordination Council Established

On January 15, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a decision to establish the Police Reform Coordination Council. The individual composition of the council has been confirmed.

The main purpose of the council is to coordinate the priorities set by the strategy and the measures stemming from them. Emphasizing the importance of civil society's involvement in the processes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reform, it is planned to include representatives from four non-governmental organizations in the coordinating council.

The council will be chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. It also includes several ministers, including the Ministers of Internal Affairs, Defense, Justice, Finance, Health, Education, Science and Culture, Information Technology and Communications, and Labor and Social Affairs. Additionally, the Secretary of the Security Council, the Director of the National Security Service, the head of the foreign intelligence service, and other officials are also included in the committee.
