No One Has Been Punished for Tigran Avinyan's Expensive Plane Ticket

In the City Hall, no staff member has yet been held accountable for Tigran Avinyan's extravagant trip to the USA. It was revealed last December that a VIP ticket for Tigran Avinyan's trip to Los Angeles in November cost 7 million 650 thousand drams. This is reported by the newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak.

For the nine members of the mayor's delegation, eight economy class tickets were purchased, while the mayor traveled to the USA in business class. Tigran Avinyan did not deny the information, stating during a procedural meeting that he only learned about the prices after the trip to the USA and was shocked upon discovering the costs. The Mayor of Yerevan blamed his staff for irresponsibility and publicly ordered a thorough investigation into the purchasing process to identify those responsible for the stated expenses, ensuring that "consequences would follow."

To date, in fact, there have been no "consequences." The press office of the City Hall informed the newspaper that the investigation is still ongoing. For the sake of fairness, it should also be noted that Tigran Avinyan has reimbursed himself from his personal funds for the cost of his plane tickets to the USA, which amounted to 7 million 650 thousand drams.
