Arush Arushanyan Will Remain in Custody

The punishment of Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan has been increased by 3 months, changing from 1 year and 8 months to 1 year and 11 months of imprisonment. This decision came after partial approval of appeals against the replacement of his sentence with imprisonment. The Court of Appeal, presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Harutyunyan, announced its ruling today. According to the spokesperson of the criminal court, Liana Rafaelian, in an interview with 'Factinfo', the court partially granted the special appeals made by the head of the penal enforcement supervision department of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, L. Charkhifalakyan, and Arush Arushanyan's lawyer, Sergey Marabyan.

As a result, the court determined the final sentence to be 1 year and 11 months of imprisonment by partially aggregating based on combination rules. The decision of the Syunik Regional Court of First Instance dated September 10, 2024, remains unchanged in other respects.
