Trump No Longer Promises to End Ukrainian Conflict in 24 Hours

The newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump no longer mentions plans to end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours. This was reported by the British Financial Times (FT).

According to a source from the publication, this is linked to the fact that the Republican transition team is "literally captivated by the idea of strength and wants to appear strong," and thus feels compelled to revise its approach to the Ukrainian conflict.

The article notes that Trump is now discussing the continuation of support for Kyiv mainly through European allies.

Previously, the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, stated that while the elected president aims to establish peace as soon as possible, he does not intend to make concessions to Moscow on the matter of settlement, as he "wants to save Ukraine and its sovereignty."

On January 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Trump was the first Western politician to acknowledge NATO's falsehood about not expanding the alliance eastward. Just a week prior, the Republican stated that he understands Russia's feelings in opposing Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance.
