This Agreement Is Not Against Any Country, Lavrov

The Comprehensive Partnership Agreement, which will be signed in Moscow on January 17 by the Presidents of Russia and Iran, Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, is not directed against any other country. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“This agreement, just like our agreement with the DPRK, is not directed against any country; it is, by its nature, constructive and aimed at strengthening the defensive capabilities of Russia and Iran,” noted Lavrov.

On January 17, negotiations will be held in Moscow between President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran.

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Moscow and Tehran contains 47 articles and covers all areas of bilateral cooperation. “This agreement includes a preamble, 47 articles, and covers all areas of bilateral cooperation,” said Jalali to the Iranian state television and radio. According to the ambassador, the main attention during the drafting of this agreement was given to the principles of “balance, sovereignty, and respect for the territorial integrity of the countries.”
