We will protect it from the evil outside world,” he wrote on his Truth Social account.

Trump also added that his son “will travel to Greenland to visit beautiful and scenic places.” At the end of last year, Trump stated that Washington needs to have control over Greenland. In response, Greenland's Prime Minister Múte Egede emphasized that the island is not for sale.

In 2019, during Trump's first presidential term, U.S. media reported that he was interested in the possibility of acquiring Greenland. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and has a high degree of autonomy. The authorities of the Kingdom of Denmark have refused to discuss the sale of Greenland, calling the idea absurd.
