You Have Only Entered the Citizen's Pocket, Nothing Else Has Changed: Council Member
During the committee meeting, the reporting member on red lines, Davit Hakobyan, stated that yes, a year ago, by raising the red line fees by 160,000 drams, there was a desire to relieve the center and the city of Yerevan. Now you have collected about 2.1 billion drams, but you have provided no benefits at all. This was announced today, December 24, in the Yerevan City Council meeting by Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the "Mother Armenia" faction.
Referring to the court's decision that invalidated the fees imposed for parking in parking lots, Stepanyan said, "Yes, the court has made a decision that is not appropriate for your appearance; now you want to appeal to the Court of Appeals, but you have such good examples, if you realize that the appellate court will not overturn the decision, it will leave it the same, gather and go block the court entrances. Such things happen to you. By raising the 'red lines' by 160,000 drams, you have only entered the citizen's pocket; nothing else has changed," he announced.
"Yerevan has not been relieved, the center has not been relieved, and moreover, there is no place to park in the yards, people are arguing over parking spaces, and every time we talk with you, they refer to you. We do not find it necessary to present what is happening in the center of Yerevan here. You have failed; you are just again 'stealing' from the people, accumulating money, and you provide nothing regarding the red lines," he said.
