VIDEO: Mass Protests and Riots in Egypt

Mass anti-government protests have started in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. People are demonstrating against President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Local media reports that the reasons for the protests include the worsening economic situation in the country, repression of civil liberties, and government corruption.

Currently, tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets, tearing down posters of the president and instigating disturbances. However, the government publication 'Al Qahera' claims that there are only small protests occurring in impoverished neighborhoods of Cairo, stating that there is nothing serious enough to threaten Sisi's regime.
